At
the present time there are several single family homes available
for purchase in the Lundar area. Rental properties and unserviced
lots are also available. There is a nineteen unit mobile home
park in Lundar, which offers a complete service package at a very
reasonable price.
Another attractive
alternative in this region would be acreage property of which
there are several available that are attractively priced.
Transportation:
Truck/Car:
Provincial Trunk Highway #6 is the major transportation route
on the western side of the Interlake.
Bus:
Grey Goose Bus Lines provide service several times per day to
points north, south and west of Coldwell from the depot in the
community.
Air:
Small aircraft can utilize the two runways at the airstrip west
of town operated by the Lundar Flying Club. The main airstrip
is lighted. The airport is adjacent to the Lundar Golf course,
1/2 km north-west of the town of Lundar.
Runways are
grass covered and 30/12 is 75 ft by 2650 ft and 06/24 is 75 ft
by 2680 ft. Lighting is in place on 30/12 and is radio controlled
on 123.2 mhz.
Winter plowing
is provided.
Aprons and
taxiways are crushed rock covered but can become soft during wet
conditions.
Tie downs
are provided for about 5 aircraft, only 1 or 2 local aircraft
are parked here.
The role of
this airport is to provide aircraft facilities for local enthusiasts
and visitors - especially visitors of the golf course. A local
construction company uses the facility almost daily, shuttling
personnel and material between their Lundar base and a major work
site in Pickle Lake Ontario.
Runway can
accommodate single engine and small twin engine type aircraft
to a maximum gross of about 10,000 pounds.
Courier:
Daily freight service to and from Winnipeg and the services of
the major courier companies are available as well.
West Interlake
Handivan: A transportation service is available for seniors
and the mobility challenged serving Eriksdale, Lundar, St. Laurent,
and the surrounding areas. Call 762-5148.
